Retail Sales Planner
Kim Seybert Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Retail Sales Planner to support our team. The ideal candidate will be expected to analyze sales data and develop recommendations to support sales goals, and will work closely with design, production and marketing teams to establish a rolling 12-month sales forecast and SKU level demand plan. This position is the linkage between sales forecasting, marketing and manufacturing bringing closer alignment to the Sales Inventory & Operation Planning Process.
Additional Information:
- Must have thorough understanding of wholesale and retail sales, inventory management & forecasting principles.
- 3+ years’ experience in wholesale and retail sales, forecasting, inventory management, demand planning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect, consolidate, and analyze sales data to support decision-making. Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in the sales process.
- Conduct market trends and competitor behavior research to aid territory analysis and sales plan.
- Document major assumptions in the demand plan, including the coordination of new products, special projects, promotions, events and/or customer planning activities.
- Develop regular reports on sales metrics. Prepare ad-hoc analyses as required by management.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather input and feedback, and provide findings to sales and management.
- Analyze YOY category performance and POS trends, fill rates, turns, inventory targets and identifies areas of improvement.
- Communicates over-/under-bought situations and provides recommendations for resolution.
Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required in business planning, retail sales, merchandising or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail planning, research, buyer or data analysis.
- Strong math and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel (csv imports, pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s and math functions).
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
