Overview:
The Pipeline Hydrostatic and Precommissioning Engineer will report to either the Installation Engineering Manager or the Operations Manager depending on the project execution phase.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Hydrostatic testing and Precommissioning engineering activities are properly managed and correctly performed
- Be responsible to follow-up, plan, supervise and co-ordinate the Hydrotesting and Precommissioning operation on site.
- Organize and coordinate the activities of the Hydrotesting and Precommissioning team assigned, providing technical and administrative guidance to ensure that aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
- Prepare the discipline check and/or review of documents, calculations, drawings and schedule.
- Perform the technical and commercial evaluation of the Hydrotesting and Precommissioning Subcontractors activity in comparison with the in-house equipment and personnel cost estimation.
- Ensure technical coordination with all other phases of work, including attendance at interface meetings.
- Attend meeting with Client regarding critical issues arising from the Hydrotesting and Precommissioning activities.
- Responsible for the planning, mobilization and operation on site of the Hydrotesting and Precommissioning equipment and personnel assigned to the project.
- Lead the Hydrostatic testing and Precommissioning engineering and construction activities on site.
- Administer and coordinate the Hydrostatic testing and Precommissioning Subcontractor and its activity on site.
- Ensure adequate training for the Hydrostatic testing and Precommissioning Engineers both in office and on site.
Participate and contribute to:
- Project progress meeting,
- Engineering co-ordination meetings
- Interface meetings with Client, other Contractors and Sub-Contractors
- Technical review meeting (concerning Procurement, Engineering, Fabrication, Operation, Interface)
- HSE meetings
- Risk Assessment
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- 2+ years of precommissioning/commissioning experience in Oil & Gas offshore projects
- Available for offshore missions supporting offshore operations also on short notice
- Demonstrated experience in managing subcontractors
- Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role
- This position requires technical and relational skills.
