Volt is immediately hiring Data Center Technician in Garland, TX
As a Data Center Technician, you will:
Primary Responsibilities
- Rack and stack servers in a data center environment
- Run, connect and dress Ethernet cable bundles for newly deployed systems
- Replace failed fans, motherboards, CPUs, hard drives, DIMMs, cache batteries and related server hardware
- Upgrade system firmware and software as needed
- Work closely with application teams for daily support issues, break/fix issues and scheduled maintenance
- Configuration of OS and Network in Unix/Linux environment
- Troubleshoot Cat6 Ethernet and Fiber Optic connections
- Utilize hand tools to assemble cabinets and install related hardware
- 1 year+ experience working with Ethernet or fiber cables
- 1 year+ experience working with structured cabling, terminating, or dressing Ethernet cables
- 1 year+ experience troubleshooting computer hardware like HDDs, DIMMs, CPUs and physical network connections
- 1 year+ experience working with rack mounted network switches/routers and servers
- Basic-level experience working with Linux or Unix command line
This is a Full Time, Contract opportunity.
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Garland, TX
Pay Rate: $24 - 26 per hour.
