Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Fairport, NY (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension based on business needs and conditions)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team for a 6-month assignment in Fairport, NY. This role requires a strong background in quality engineering, with a focus on resolving production issues and ensuring compliance with DOD/ITAR regulations. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with a demonstrated ability to work closely with production teams, manage quality projects, and perform audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Identify and address quality issues on the production floor. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve daily production problems and improve processes.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations to determine the root causes of quality issues. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Project Management: Lead and contribute to quality improvement projects. Ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Auditing: Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant regulations.
- Documentation: Write and maintain procedures and documentation related to quality processes and issue resolutions.
- Customer Support: Analyze and address customer return materials authorization (RMA) issues and provide root cause analysis for customer concerns.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to address quality concerns and integrate solutions into production processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Quality Engineering, with a proven track record of hands-on problem-solving in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Compliance: Experience with DOD/ITAR compliance requirements.
- Standards: Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.
- Skills: Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively on the production floor to address and resolve issues.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with glass or optics is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Background in working with glass or optics.
- Project Experience: Proven experience in managing quality improvement projects and audits.
