Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Belleville, IL client.
This is a full time direct hire position requiring 100% onsite attendance.
Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement standard work, process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage capacity planning, capital projects, production line designs, machine programming, new product introductions, and product changes.
- Support production in achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Drive continuous improvements in production through data-driven inputs, waste elimination, and Visual Factory Management.
- Conduct time studies and line balancing to optimize production efficiency.
- Create and maintain standard work documentation.
- Define material replenishment systems and implement pull signals.
- Design and modify production lines and areas as needed.
- Implement New Product Development (NPD) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Lead and actively participate in cross-functional team activities to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Visual Management, 5S, SMED, KANBAN, mixed-model flow line, and design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Extensive experience in project management, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience, particularly in:
- Fabrication
- Resistance and MIG welding
- Powder and wet painting
- Final assembly of light gauge sheet metal consumer appliances in a medium-low volume, high-medium mix environment.
- Proven track record in implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of mechanical aptitude.
- Experience leading small teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Effective time management skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects from conception to completion.
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
