Peak Partners has a regional healthcare payer client seeking to hire a Batch Processing Engineer. The Engineer will design and implement new Active Batch jobs in alignment with project request requirements and govern the client’s batch processing system ensuring the timely execution of critical business processes.
The position can be remote, but the candidate must be living in one of the following States: MD, VA, PA, DE, or District of Columbia. US citizenship is required due to the terms of a specific government contract.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the batch processing system (Active Batch), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor batch jobs to ensure timely execution and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during processing.
- Collaborate with IT teams to identify and implement enhancements to the batch processing environment to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Manage the scheduling of batch jobs according to business requirements and priorities.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to understand job scheduling needs and ensure alignment with operational objectives.
- Develop and maintain job schedules to optimize resource utilization and minimize processing conflicts.
- Design and implement new Active Batch jobs in response to project request requirements.
- Conduct testing and validation of new batch jobs to ensure functionality and reliability before deployment into production.
- Maintain accurate documentation of batch processing procedures, job schedules, and job specifications.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to batch processing operations.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in administering batch processing systems, preferably in a HealthCare or clinical services environment.
- Proficiency in job scheduling tools such as Active Batch or similar enterprise scheduler software.
- Strong SQL code, SSIS package, and Stored Procedure knowledge
- Strong PowerShell, Python, Java, VBScripts, and shell scripting knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
