***This is a remote position. Contractors who live outside of North Carolina will not be issued any state computer equipment. They are required to use DIT’s Citrix Remote PC system, and their personal or vendor provided computer equipment to access DIT’s systems.

The North Carolina Department of Information Technology - Transportation (NCDIT-T) is seeking a GIS Technical Specialist contractor for a minimum 12-month engagement. The position will be assigned to the GIS Unit to specifically provide advanced GIS focused Business Analysis and Project Management support to the GIS Unit's Technical Team. This position will directly support the Application Development, Spatial Database, Geospatial Services, Systems Engineering and Architecture teams. The responsibilities of this support position are to coordinate the delivery of high-quality applications and services across several enterprise technical teams and to provide detailed schedule and resource information to the unit’s Project Controls Analyst for the benefit of resource planning and scheduling. In addition, this role will be directly involved in gathering and documenting requirements for specific projects as well as tracking and guiding tasks on those projects and also assisting with managing project timelines. In certain circumstances the role will also involve assisting with the testing and troubleshooting of system issues, and facilitation of collaboration around the delivery of the software. The candidate will use Microsoft DevOps on a regular basis in support of these efforts.
