Overview: Regional Maintenance Manager is pivotal in ensuring the safe operation of our trucking fleet. The Regional Safety manager oversees maintenance, repairs, and compliance within an assigned region. This position requires strategic thinking, strong management skills, and a deep understanding of the transportation industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Procedures: Create and implement maintenance procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our trucking fleet.
- Optimize Processes: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
- Short and Long-Term Maintenance Strategies: Work closely with the Director and Vice President of Maintenance to implement maintenance strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Prioritize Maintenance Activities: Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability.
- Inspections and Compliance: Ensure equipment is inspected to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for necessary parts, supplies, and services.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and manage maintenance schedules to optimize truck and equipment lifespan and performance.
- Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Cost-Effective Strategies: Implement cost-effective maintenance approaches while maintaining high-quality standards. Track fleet performance and maintenance costs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to maintenance, safety, and environmental protection.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership, safety, and operations teams to support overall business objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience in truck maintenance with 2 years of supervisory or managerial role
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance management within the trucking industry.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA guidelines, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership skills, technical expertise in truck maintenance, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution
- Capability to work under time and quota pressures
- Ability to lead a remote team
- Analytical mindset to optimize and keep the supply chain running in a world of change
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstrates commitment and results-orientation, strives to maximize account performance, and achieve growth targets
- Availability to travel regionally and/or national as needed
