Position: Construction Superintendent - Ground-Up New Construction - Commercial
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Salary: up to $135,000 DOE
My client are a full-service General Contractor working across the Commercial & Residential sectors based in Fort Worth, and they currently have a space in the team for a Construction Superintendent!
The ideal candidate will have experience working directly for a full-service General Contractors focusing on new construction projects from the ground-up across commercial structures.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day on-site construction activities for commercial projects up to $65M, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Lead and coordinate the work of on-site construction teams, including subcontractors, laborers, and other site personnel.
- Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality, conducting regular inspections and addressing any deficiencies promptly.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring all OSHA and company safety standards are met.
- Develop, manage, and maintain construction schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor project budgets, ensuring efficient use of materials and labor, and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager.
- Serve as a primary on-site contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily logs, safety reports, and material inventories.
- Identify potential issues and resolve conflicts on-site, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience in construction management, with at least 3 years in a superintendent role overseeing commercial projects valued at $35M or more.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required; LEED accreditation and/or PMP certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large construction teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successfully managing complex construction projects.
- Strong focus on quality control, safety, and documentation, with a meticulous approach to managing project details.
