We are seeking a qualified Electrical Power & Design Engineer to support our growing electrical power services.
Key Experience & Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing electrical construction and specification packages, including:
- Load studies
- Single-line diagrams
- Plot plan & area/building detail diagrams
- Lighting, grounding, conduit, and cable schedules
- Construction specifications
- Equipment and installation details
- Preferred experience with:
- Area classification drawings
- Motor/breaker schematics and wiring diagrams
- Lightning protection
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE 3000 Series, and API 500 standards (preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
- Experience with power system modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) and electrical relay settings (e.g., GE Multilin, SEL) is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of electrical power construction packages suitable for PE stamping and plan submission
- Create detailed electrical power specifications and bills of materials
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment pricing
- Participate in load studies, field verification walkdowns, and as-building of existing infrastructure
- Perform factory acceptance testing and support start-up/commissioning efforts, including troubleshooting
- Provide after-hours technical support for clients
- Collaborate with Project Managers on quality assurance, budget management, and project updates
- Assist in estimating costs and preparing proposals for new projects
- Travel required (approximately 25%), with willingness to travel by air
