Summary
Our Fortune 500, Fortune's "Best Places to Work" client is looking for a Systems Analyst. This role will provide technical expertise and documentation to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the company’s systems. The Systems Analyst analyzes requirements, defines data, workflows, and system processes. The Systems Analyst will make informed decisions about functionality and document system requirements. The key to success in this role is having the ability to recognize and understand technical details, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Collects, captures and documents functional requirements for stories in the backlog.
- Coordinates, leads, and facilitates collaborative systems requirement gathering sessions.
- Translates business requirements into functional requirements by asking probing questions to fully understand business needs and how they relate to key performance measurements. Then implements computer system and functional requirements.
- Ensures that system requirements are consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined through documentation such as conceptual system design plan, workflows, integration documentation and high-level functional system impact.
- As the subject matter expert, researches and proposes solutions of applications, systems, or databases.
- Predicts potential problems for applications and/or systems and provides recommended solutions.
- Advocate for highest impact needs and provide inputs for ROI analysis.
- Uses disciplined processes, procedures, best practices, and standards.
Support and Quality
- Investigates production system issues escalated by field users. Quickly assesses business impact to prioritize response time and resolution.
- Identifies and captures root cause of system issues for resolution as well as workarounds until the item can be resolved.
- Connects with business users and translates technical issues to business terms to help field users understand what is happening, what they can control, and what requires technical work when necessary for finding root cause.
- Organizes details of current state of application performance for communication to the Project Manager, Business Relationship Manager and field users.
- Participates in after hour on-call support rotation for high priority items that may be interrupting business operations.
Continuous Improvement and Functional Development:
- Participates in, or leads, internal initiatives for the implementation, use, and improvement of processes, procedures, guidelines, and metrics for Systems Analysis team or IT organization.
- Provides technical leadership & mentoring to less senior members on and off the team. Consults with other teams regarding technology solutions for business needs and/or problem resolution.
- Proactively seeks out opportunities to collaborate with other IT teams on project assignments and problem escalation.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to foster overall IT and team strategy, and execution.
- Keeps pace with industry changes, technologies, and strategies.

Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in a Systems Analyst role.
- Strong understanding of business operations and IT disciplines preferred.
- Strong experience writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience with collaboration on one or more project teams using an Agile methodology.
