Job Description:
The primary function of the Assistant Construction Superintendent is to assist the Sr. Project Manager with daily administration and planning of residential construction sites. This role is heavily administrative and requires someone with superb administrative talents that can be utilized in the requisition and execution of plans, contracts, purchase orders, and change orders, tracking each in order to maintain the project timelines. This is a salaried, exempt position, with a minimum of 40 hours/week required.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
- Helps manage the jobsite for one project alongside the Sr. Project Manager
- Helps determine the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
- Participates in various project status meetings
- Alerts the Sr. Project Manager when he/she foresees a deviation from the project’s plan or schedule
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and ethics
- Assists with bid procurement, material selection, and contractor selection
- Tracks and filters communication to ensure details are followed up on and not missed
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in California
- Ability to read and analyze architectural plans
- Experience with local Cities and jurisdictions preferred
- Customer Service driven
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Must possess excellent time management skills and be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Must possess the ability to recognize, analyze and solve problematic situations
