The ideal candidate will be comfortable outlining and planning all aspects of work related to a given project such as budget, timelines and teams. They will have strong communication skills that enable them to effectively communicate with all relevant teams. This individual should be able to foresee any problems related to the completion of a project and act in a timely manner to mitigate any issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide sales, engineering, and technical assistance to customers and Account Managers by providing technical and presentation support, i.e., sales calls, technical reviews and customer presentations, test data review, etc.
- Act as champion of assigned program APQP activities and maintain systems such as MRP, Customer Web Portals, etc
- Manage assigned programs ensuring that action plans, timelines, and customer requirements are met and/or exceeded by initiating schedules for APQP team meetings.
- Participate in reviews regarding product concept and design, offering constructive input about manufacturing feasibility and viability as well as options to achieve best in class processes and products.
- Monitor and track project cost:
•Tooling
•Capital
•Parts manufacturing costs
6.Participate in discussions with external customers representing the company in specifics programs to offer the best possible solutions and ensure understanding of product performance requirements.
7.Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and IATF 16949 activities.
8.Maintain positive employee relations and address issues in timely manner. Seek advice/counsel from appropriate sources as required.
Minimum Requirements for Project Manager:
A minimum of 5 years of related experience for Automotive Tier 1
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Industrial/Process or Electrical Engineering
Desirable Requirements:
- Costing and Sales Engineering experience highly desirable, not essential
