Job Purpose
This role clarifies the relationship between the engineering development process and the associated expenses to support business and resource strategy. Responsibilities include defining and analyzing development processes to meet resource targets, creating engineering difficulty ratings, and supporting engineering KPI creation and calculation.
Key Accountabilities
- Efficiency Theme Support and Monitoring: Create or modify engineering processes to meet resource requirements across many development areas. Analyze the resource impact of each process and calculate gaps to resource targets. For any gaps, propose which engineering area or process should be investigated for optimization. Clearly document all information used and calculations.
- Development Complexity Rating: Determine quantitative rating for engineering difficulty based on future project engineering documents and schedules. Clearly document all information used and load to database systems for promotion and alignment with all engineering management.
- Strategic Metric Support: Calculate development metrics using engineering data, perform analysis on results to identify patterns and insights, and share with metric leaders. Support metric leaders to improve existing metrics or create new.
- Ad-Hoc Business Simulation: Support quick turn around business and resource simulation as required by company leaders.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering field (ex: Mechanical, Electrical)
- 3+ years of related automotive R&D work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (ex: PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience creating & managing structured data or databases.
- Exposure to product development process and research themes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation & relationship-building skills
- Good decision-making, judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good project management and process improvement skills
- Good negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills
Workstyle
- 50-70% office area / 30-50% manufacturing area (at the spot)
- OT of 5-10 hours per week
- <5% travel (excluding other Ohio facilities)
