Job Description & Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Network/System Engineering with a
strong focus on Television Broadcast, Streaming, and OTT experience, or equivalent practical
experience.
* Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in deploying and managing
network or systems environments that support Television Broadcast, Streaming, and OTT
services.
* Television Operations Center Experience: Proven experience working in a Television Operations
Center, with responsibility for 24/7 monitoring of live video and audio streams.
Responsibilities:
1. Incident Management: Respond to and troubleshoot incidents escalated from the Tier 1 Analyst
team, performing advanced troubleshooting as per defined SOPs and meeting SLA levels.
2. Incident Escalation & Ownership: Triage and escalate incidents as required, maintaining end-to-
end ownership until ticket resolution.
3. Diagnosis & Tracking: Validate problem descriptions, conduct detailed diagnostics, and track
incidents within the trouble-ticketing system.
4. Backlog Management: Address backlog tickets from previous shifts and ensure necessary
follow-ups are conducted.
5. External Escalations: Monitor and manage external escalations, including follow-ups for
outstanding tickets and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
6. Major Incident Handling: Participate in, manage, and drive the resolution of major incidents.
7. Postmortem & Problem Management: Develop postmortem reports and lead problem
management initiatives.
8. Communication: Handle escalated incidents, working closely with customers and stakeholders
to provide regular outage notifications.
9. Service Requests & Station Turn-ups: Manage service requests and perform new station turn-
ups.
10. Process Improvement: Provide regular feedback on troubleshooting processes and
documentation gaps, updating existing SOPs and developing new ones as needed.
11. Documentation: Update infrastructure documentation, including system understanding
documents, SOPs, and infrastructure diagrams.
12. Shift Coordination: Actively participate in daily standup meetings and shift handover calls,
providing updates on pending tickets for the next shift.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Network Operations Center (NOC) Experience: At least 5 years of experience as an L3 engineer
or team lead in a Video NOC, technical support center, or in network troubleshooting for
broadcast, streaming, or OTT platforms.
* NOC Tools & ITIL Processes: Strong understanding of NOC monitoring tools, event handling, and
ITIL processes.
* Incident Management Expertise: Extensive experience in end-to-end incident management,
including ticketing and supporting maintenance requests.
* Data Networking & Video Networking: Solid understanding of data networking, video
networking technologies, and the associated protocols.
* Switching & Routing: Proficient in switching and routing technologies, with hands-on experience
using Cisco/Juniper device CLIs.
* Network Traffic Monitoring: Experience monitoring and analyzing network traffic with tools
such as Logic Monitor and SolarWinds NTA.
* Firewall & Security: Expertise in firewall configuration and deployment, specifically with Fortinet
Fortigate, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Juniper SRX.
* Juniper Experience: Proficiency with Juniper MX40, EX4200, SRX 1500 series, and Juniper
Apstra.
* Load Balancing: Experience configuring and administering F5 Big-IP Load Balancers (GTM and
LTM), including writing iRules.
* SIEM Tools: Skilled in deploying and configuring SPLUNK (SIEM Tools) for log and event data
aggregation.
* SD-WAN Solutions: Experience deploying SD-WAN solutions, including vEdge, vBond, vSmart,
and vManage.
* Wireless Infrastructure: Proficiency in managing wireless infrastructure such as Cisco Meraki,
Aruba, Clear Pass, and BYOD management.
* Audio/Video Technologies: In-depth knowledge of audio/video technologies, including MPEG-
4/H.264, HEVC/H.265, ASI, MPEG2 Transport Streams, ATSC, PCM, AC3, and related standards.
* Video Platforms & Delivery Networks: Experience with at least two video platforms and two
areas of a Video Delivery Network (e.g., Acquire, Encode, Encrypt, Deliver).
* Advanced Troubleshooting: Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on audio/video
technologies, IPTV platforms, and switching/routing protocols.
* Project Deployments: Experience rolling out configuration changes and managing project
deployments.
* Leadership & Problem Management: Provide guidance to Video Operations Analysts, lead
problem management efforts, and develop postmortem reports in collaboration with the team.
* Sports Event Familiarity: Knowledge of American sports events such as MLB Baseball, College
Football, NFL, and NBA Basketball is preferred.
* Shift Work: Willingness to work in shifts within a 24x7 operational environment.
