Position Purpose
This Principal Spacecraft Systems Engineer will be working in a team environment, with frequent opportunities for customer engagement, new business development, concept design, mission formulation, system analysis, and detailed design, analysis, integration, tests, verification, and on-orbit operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, allocate, and manage system requirements and verification
- Develop and maintain technical budgets for system performance
- Author interface control documents, CONOPS definitions, and other system design documents
- Lead and facilitate technical exchanges with customers
- Work closely with program management office and customers to achieve mission success
- Collaborate with other technical program leads and diverse domain expertise
- Execute and manage key trades
- Provide mentoring for junior Systems Engineers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education
- 10+ years’ experience as a spacecraft systems engineer or subsystem engineer
- Experience with at least four phases of the program life cycle (business development, mission formulation, requirements development and flow-down, integration, test, verification, and on-orbit operations)
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Science, or a related technical field (related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education)
- Demonstrated responsibility for space hardware missions and ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of management and team member contributors on the program
- Thorough understanding of the Systems Engineering development lifecycle and change management process
