Overview:
We have an opportunity in Southern California for a Project Manager in our Water Infrastructure Practice. Our growing backlog of stormwater planning, engineering, and design work creates a chance to be involved in various projects that address California’s uniquely integrated water supply and flood management issues. The successful candidate will be a motivated, growth-oriented professional who can support our clients in conceiving, planning, and managing multidisciplinary projects to deliver stormwater, recharge, flood mitigation, resiliency, and water quality project planning and design documents and support construction projects. With a talented local and national team, the role will offer the opportunity to mentor less experienced staff, collaborate with experts in Los Angeles, Laguna Hills, San Diego, and across the nation, and support a wide range of clients and project types.

You will be a trusted advisor to our longstanding, valued clients and will be given the flexibility to manage your schedule to achieve your goals.
Location: This opportunity is open to candidates located in Southern California.
Travel: Up to 10% local travel to client sites

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
- Manage project teams to develop planning, design, permitting, and construction documents for stormwater and flood mitigation projects.
- Coordination with a national team of experts to scope projects and prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, and specifications for various design projects.
- Interface with engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, and other offices to develop and deliver design documents.
- Coordination and leadership of project team members and task leaders for on-budget/on-schedule project execution.
- Provide technical support to stormwater sales, water quality, recharge, climate change, and flood mitigation improvements.
- Willingness to serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff members.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a closely related area, required.
- 15 + years of engineering experience, preferably in the consulting field.
- Management experience and technical competencies with stormwater (flood mitigation, resiliency, and water quality) projects, horizontal utility projects, site grading, and drainage, and experience serving municipalities on various municipal assignments, including permitting.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
- Experience with project management and working directly with clients.
- Proven understanding of business development cycles, sales support, and project scoping.
- Strong understanding of Los Angeles County, California, and Federal environmental regulatory framework and experience interacting with regulators.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
$120,000 - $215,000 a year
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided below; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
