Our client, a leader in the bakery and snack industry with over 140 years of history, seeks a Sanitation Supervisor (1st shift) for their west coast bakery! This role involves supervising and coordinating sanitation to maintain high standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance. Join a fast growing plant, in a key role! This position focuses on maintaining high sanitation standards, leading teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance within the bakery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect facilities, grounds, and equipment to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Lead and support team members in housekeeping, sanitation, chemical handling, pest control, and GMPs.
- Supervise, coordinate, and document sanitation and housekeeping activities.
- Inspect premises for signs of pests, food security risks, unsanitary conditions, and resolve issues with the team.
- Collaborate with management and production teams on sanitation, scheduling, and budget adherence.
- Recommend improvements in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, and work practices for better sanitation.
- Identify and report inspection results, sanitation, safety, or GMP violations, and resolve deficiencies.
- Review production schedules and estimate time requirements for job assignments.
- Establish and document team member schedules to meet production needs.
- Prepare for scheduled audits, regulatory visits, and other inspections (e.g., Kosher, Organic).
- Ensure the facility is always ready for SQF, regulatory, and other inspections.
- Coordinate on-the-job training for new hires and transferred employees.
- Train sanitation team members in safety requirements and ensure safe performance of duties.
- Write, update, and amend the master sanitation schedule, SSOPs, and routine sanitation requirements.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of relevant experience or training coming from an FDA regulated facility (Food, beverage, pharma, medical device manufacturing etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective abilities in organizing and deductive thinking.
- Able to communicate at any organizational level.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Promotes effective engagement & collaboration.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
- Ability to read and write English is necessary for managing chemical safety and required documentation.
Base compensation for this role typically ranges between $66,500 - $78,000 depending upon years of experience.
