Job Title: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that production goals are met efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely. The Plant Manager will lead a team of production supervisors and workers, manage resources, and implement processes to optimize productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the plant to ensure smooth and efficient production.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet or exceed production targets.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure on-time delivery of products.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor plant staff, including production supervisors, line workers, and maintenance personnel.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, emphasizing teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff members.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections.
- Address and resolve any quality issues or defects in a timely manner.
Safety and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and other legal requirements.
- Conduct regular safety training and audits.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the plant’s budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline operations.
- Analyze production data and metrics to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with upper management, staff, and other departments.
- Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, financials, and quality issues.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by staff or other stakeholders.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
- Proven experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably as a Plant Manager or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make strategic decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for long periods and occasional lifting of heavy materials.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required.
