Role Description
We seek a part-time attorney with at least two years of family law experience, including litigating contested motions. This is a remote position, with required in-person court appearances throughout Los Angeles County and occasional face-to-face client meetings. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, strong analytical abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of family law cases from inception to resolution. You will work independently and collaboratively with our team on various family law matters, with support from experienced legal assistants and the flexibility to set your working hours around court appearances.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective client communication and manage cases in line with client goals.
- Draft professional and accurate emails, pleadings, motions, discovery, declarations, judgments, and memorandums.
- Appear in court and attend meetings with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals as needed.
- Assist the Senior Attorney with litigation support, research, and writing.
- Manage client relations, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in California and good standing with the State Bar.
- Minimum of two years of family law experience, with solid knowledge of Los Angeles County Superior Court Rules and California Family Code.
- Superior skills in writing motions, declarations, trial briefs, and discovery motions.
- Familiarity with financial disclosure requirements and discovery procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple cases and deadlines.
- Experience with practice management software and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week, with additional hours and an increased caseload available.
