Our client is a prestigious law firm with a strong reputation for excellence. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager (Litigation) to oversee and enhance the operational efficiency of their litigation practice. This role will sit in the firms NYC office.
Position Overview:
The Practice Manager will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of the firm's litigation practice. This includes working closely with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing best practices, optimising workflows, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance the practice's overall performance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of the litigation practices.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows and processes to improve practice management.
- Collaborate with partners and attorneys to ensure client needs are met and exceeded.
- Manage and mentor support staff, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to perform effectively.
- Monitor and manage practice budgets, billing, and financial performance.
- Coordinate with other departments, including IT, HR, and Finance, to support the litigation practice.
- Drive initiatives to enhance client service delivery and satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and legal regulations.
- Facilitate the adoption of legal technology and tools to improve practice efficiency.
- Analyse and report on practice performance metrics to senior management.
- Assist with business development efforts, including client proposals and pitches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in practice management within a legal environment required, litigation experience preferred.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and managing complex projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
- Proficient in legal practice management software and other relevant technologies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
