Civil Engineer
Position Overview:
My client is a premier producer and distributor of specialty alloys, including titanium, nickel, and cobalt-based superalloys, stainless steels, alloy steels, and tool steels, is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer. Their high-performance materials and innovative process solutions are critical components in various industries, such as aerospace, transportation, medical, and energy. They are committed to advancing next-generation products and manufacturing techniques, including magnetic materials and additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the identification, recommendation, and implementation of equipment purchases, modifications, and improvements.
- Manage the full lifecycle of large-scale, cross-functional projects, ensuring all aspects—cost, schedule, performance, and deliverables—are meticulously handled.
- Define project scope, select team members from various disciplines, and lead the team through project completion.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex equipment to the Maintenance department.
- Lead the engineering and design work related to the installation and retrofit of various sophisticated equipment.
- Develop and refine departmental standards, processes, and procedures.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers across multiple disciplines, providing day-to-day guidance as needed.
- Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree Required. Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of the latest ACI, AISC, and IBC codes, with expert understanding of governing codes such as NFPA, ASME, SAE, AIST, JIC, etc.
- Proficient in CAD software and MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced skills in steel and concrete analysis and design, particularly for industrial buildings, foundations, large equipment foundations, and crane runways.
- Strong background in stormwater management, sanitary systems, property mapping, and surveying.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and managing project teams, including the coordination of external resources and planning of resource requirements.
- Proven ability to apply sound engineering principles in the development of manufacturing processes, equipment, and fabrications.
- Knowledge of systems including water recirculation cooling, compressed air, vacuum, hydraulics (pumps, valves, and controls), and natural gas combustion.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong mechanical, analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment with multiple deadlines and to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, proactively contributing to team goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong decision-making skills, using logical and sound reasoning to choose appropriate courses of action.
