Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage and oversee all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, including utilities, roads, bridges, and sewer systems.
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise construction teams, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on-site.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and OSHA regulations are strictly followed.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a construction superintendent in heavy civil construction, specifically in utilities, roads, bridges, or sewer projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with New York City building codes and regulations.
