ID: Shift: Evening 2:00 PM-12:00 AM Description: Bill Rate - $84.732nd shift which is 2:00pm-12:00am with rotating weekendsProvides patient care as directed: administers medication (e.g., oralintramuscular & intravenous) & monitors patient medication compliance; performstreatments; performs or assist with nurse s sick call; assist with doctor s sick call;performs or assist with nursing management of chronic care clinics; responds toemergencies providing emergency care & cardiopulmonary resuscitation;performs subjective & objective assessment of patients; collects vital signs &timely documents all findings; collects urine &/or other bodily fluid specimens;prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities (e.g., intrasystem or outto court) by reviewing patient care, transfer summaries or release summaries;ensures discharge medication orders are completed & timely forwarded topharmacy services; participates in work-related training & institution trainingexercises.Provides assistance to other healthcare staff; investigates & documents problemareas or areas of concern; reviews shift report from preceding shift(s); assistphysicians with medical procedures; assumes duties of other nurses duringabsences; counsels/provides education to patients regarding healthcaremaintenance & prevention of disease; participates in quality assurance activities;provides training & work direction to new nurses, agency nurses, licensedpractical nurses, &/or hospital aides; serves as a resource person for otherhealthcare & security staff regarding healthcare matters; provides orientation &training for new healthcare personnel at the direction of the Nursing Supervisor;serves as the lead clinical authority on site in the absence of the HCA, QIC,medical director &/or advanced level provider staff; participates in groupprogramming; participates in health & wellness initiatives.Performs administrative duties as indicated; attends meetings; schedulesmultidisciplinary team meetings; assumes the duties of shift charge as assignedby the HCA, making shift work assignments & adjustments as necessary;performs or assist with inventory & ordering of medical supplies; assist ancillarystaff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met; must conduct themselvesprofessionally, & in a law-abiding manner, at all times & in accordance with theOhio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction Standards of Employee Conduct;performs other related duties as assigned.
