The role of an Intermediate Interior Designer is integral to the success of our interior design projects. You will be a well-rounded professional, experienced in managing projects from concept through to installation. As an Intermediate Interior Designer, you will take ownership of your projects while being guided and supported by the Studio Leader. Your success in this position will be defined by your ability to plan meticulously, design innovatively, and manage projects effectively. A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn and grow professionally are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Design
- Develop and refine design concepts from initiation through completion.
- Evaluate and create floorplans, furniture plans, and design details.
- Source materials, furnishings, artwork, and lighting.
- Conduct shopping visits and review and mark up renderings.
- Collaborate with project drafters on drawing sets.
- Present and pitch designs to clients, contributing meaningfully to meetings.
Project Management
- Attend and prepare for all design meetings, both internal and client-facing.
- Lead or assist in client communication and customer service.
- Contribute to pricing, ordering, scheduling, and installation of materials with the Purchasing Team.
- Ensure all pricing is within budget, assist with client sign-offs, and approve proposals and purchase orders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
- 5+ years’ experience in residential interior design and project management
- High level of knowledge of the interior design market and FF&E
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in related design software, such as Photoshop and SketchUp
- Knowledge of furniture specifications
- Innovative design sense with a focus on bespoke solutions
- Intermediate understanding of the construction process and various trades
- Capability to lead job-site meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Consistently poised and timely customer service
