Purpose
The AV Systems Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining all engineering documentation, including proposal drawings, shop drawings, bills of material, and scopes of work. The engineer will complete necessary tasks while adhering to schedules and deadlines, ensuring the successful design and implementation of AV solutions.
Responsibilities
• Create full BOM based on Sales Team opportunity requests, ensuring all components are accurately represented
• Generate detailed technical Scopes of Work (SOW) and design narratives that clearly outline the engineered solutions
• Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and technical/functional design specifications to prepare compliant engineered solutions
• Research emerging AV technologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of engineered solutions
• Interface with product and distribution partners to obtain specifications for systems, devices, and equipment during the engineering process
• Maintain quality assurance by following organization standards and best practices
• Participate in advanced industry training programs to obtain relevant certifications and improve technical expertise
• Engage with clients through site visits or virtual meetings to understand their specific needs and requirements
• Create and deliver demonstrations, presentations, and prototypes that highlight the features and benefits of the engineered solutions, tailored to meet the client needs
• Develop engineered solutions that align with customer business requirements, ensuring they are practical, scalable, and cost effective
• Perform internal trainings on various AV technologies
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work/related experience
• Proficient in functionality of Commercial A/V products and services
• Advanced CAD (AutoCAD) knowledge a plus
• Extensive knowledge of: Signal flow for audio, video, and control, 70/100 Volt audio systems, and Video Distribution in retail and restaurant environments
• Experience with: Construction & onsite installation, CCTV, QSC Programming, Crestron Programming, and Biamp, Extron, Bose, AMX, DBX, Polycom systems
• Preferred industry certifications: CTS, CTS-D, or I, CTI (Crestron Certified Programmer) CTI- P101, 201, SG, Fusion-P, P-301, Extron CCS, or CPC and XPT SDE
