West Coast Trial Lawyers, a downtown Los Angeles law firm is seeking a dedicated Discovery Manager who is eager to build a career in the legal field, mentor a team, and contribute to the success of our firm.
Position Overview:
The Discovery Manager will play a vital role in managing and coordinating the discovery process within our Litigation department. This is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to build a long-term career at an esteemed law firm, with significant potential for professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discovery Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of the discovery process, including the organization, review, and production of documents, ensuring compliance with legal standards and timelines.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3-5 discovery clerks, providing guidance and support to ensure the team’s effectiveness and professional growth.
- Data and Document Coordination: Coordinate the collection, processing, and management of large volumes of data and documents, ensuring that all discovery materials are organized and accessible for the legal team.
- Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all discovery materials before they are submitted, maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience working in a Personal injury law firm.
- Proficiency in Spanish (bilingual required).
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a deep understanding of the discovery process.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with document management systems and legal software (experience with Filevine is a plus).
Compensation: $28-35/hour or $67,000-$80,000/annually, depending on experience.
