Business Analyst, Hedge Accounting

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with experience in Hedge Accounting to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will work closely with both Business Units (BUs) and IT to understand and translate business requirements into detailed user stories, ensuring the successful development of data-centric applications. This position will follow an Agile methodology, supporting projects from initial request through postproduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with Business Units and IT teams to gather, understand, and document business requirements.
- Create and manage detailed user stories for new software application development in an Agile environment.
- Review and evaluate business requirements and solution alternatives.
- Work closely with the Accounting team to accurately capture business requirements related to hedge accounting.
- Develop and maintain deliverables, including user acceptance stories.
- Collaborate with lines of business to clarify needs and gather feedback on documented solutions.
- Challenge IT and business units to consider alternative options or solutions when issues are encountered.
- Define Epics, write features, and groom detailed user stories for Agile development.
- Support QA (Quality Assurance) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phases.
- Maintain open communication channels with both IT and business lines to ensure alignment and progress.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on software development projects, preferably in a financial or accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of hedge accounting principles is a significant advantage.
- Prior experience with data-centric application development.
- Ability to work effectively with accounting teams and understand their specific business requirements.
- Experience in an Agile development environment, including defining Epics, features, and user stories.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to keep Project Managers and Development Managers informed of status, opportunities, and issues.
- Skilled in negotiating win-win solutions for both IT and business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting QA and UAT processes.
