Job Description
Job Summary
The Factory Service Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our customers' instruments through our aftermarket division, directly reporting to the Factory Service Manager. This position is responsible for supporting all instrument-related technical service activities, including parts refurbishment, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, performance testing, customer communications, and telephone customer support. This role will work on all instruments within our portfolio including Life Sciences, Industrial and Environmental, Semiconductor, TOC, Endotoxin and Bioburden. Day to day responsibilities will be determined by service forecast and how the Lead Factory Technician will dispatch all associated work orders.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, testing, and calibration routines on assigned instruments, adhering to all applicable safety procedures.
- Achieve a Factory Service Repair Turn Around Time of less than 17 days for at least 70% of cases.
- Refurbishment of complex parts, assemblies, and instrumentation as needed.
- Accurately account for all inventory transactions associated with the repair process
- Generate customer deliverables, including repair letters, calibration certificates, and shipping/billing paperwork.
- Collect payment information and generating shipping and billing paperwork in a timely manner
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge and certifications for all Sievers products.
- Provide extensive equipment support as well as general hardware and software support.
- Adhere to all Factory/Field Service Repair Quality Operating Instructions (QOIs) pertaining to this position, including all applicable safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space necessary to adhere to EHS standards and optimize work efficiency.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Salesforce
- Knowledge of SAP
- General understanding of business billing documents (Invoices, PO, Quotes.. etc)
- Experience with Google workspace
- Experience with Microsoft workspace
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for servicing instruments and handling electrical equipment.
- Ability to learn and adhere to applicable company procedures within a reasonable time from\ start of employment.
- Strong technical, mathematical and customer service skills
- Cognitive abilities and clear communication skills, both written and verbal, to efficiently collaborate with teams and interact with customers.
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Education & Experience
Required:
- At least 2 years of plant or maintenance experience, OR at least 2 years of training (college, military, technical/vocational school).
- 1-3 years working with analytical instrumentation or similar field
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- 1-3 years of Data analysis
Preferred:
- Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, or another language

- Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $27-37 hourly
