Job Summary: The Associate HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the HR department and people initiatives. The AHG provides guidance and solutions on human resources operational issues. This individual partners with management to facilitate the delivery of HR services. In addition, the position ensures the firm's current HR requirements are met and the HR strategies are implemented effectively. The Associate Generalist also serves as a contact for employees and answer questions regarding HR policies and procedures. This position requires a well-rounded HR professional with experience in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Act as liaison between HR and management in the recruitment and selection of candidates
- Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Develop positive employee relations initiatives. Assist management in maintaining positive employee relations.
Performance Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance-related matters.
- Support the creation and execution of employee development plans.
Compliance and Policy Administration:
- Ensure HR operation and the firm are operating in accordance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, e.g., Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, etc.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices are in line with legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on generalist responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Experience applying knowledge of state employment laws to assess compliance issues.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification required.
Travel
- Position may require travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (Between Louisville KY and Evansville Indiana.)
