Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
The Opportunity
Lesley University seeks a part-time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting with the management of the program including practice planning, recruitment, player development, and implementing competition strategy. The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will be responsible supporting all aspects associated with the NCAA Division III NCAA Men’s Basketball program at Lesley University. They will help lead the Men’s Basketball team according to NCAA, North Atlantic Conference and Lesley University standards, rules, and regulations. They will demonstrate awareness of, commitment, and adherence to NCAA and Conference rules to help instruct and develop student-athletes; develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy; make strategic decisions in contest situations; and assistant with administrative responsibilities associated with the program operations, including fundraising efforts and community service. The Assistant Coach will help oversee the traditional season and recruiting efforts. Additional responcibilities include:
Assisting the head coach in practice and game planning and execution
Individual skill development
Film Breakdown and Analysis
Recruitment of Student-Athletes year round
Assist with planning team events
Representing Lesley Athletics at University events
Social Media and Alumni Engagement and Events
Equipment Management
Other duties as assigned
Qualities and Capabilities
Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Previous successful collegiate coaching experience or experience competing at the college, semi-professional, professional, or international level (required)
Knowledge and solid understanding of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
Participation in admissions Open Houses, Accepted Students Day and other new student events.
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license or be able to commute to practice/competitions.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
Requires night and weekend hours and potential overnight travel
