Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Production Supervisor for a privately held family-owned company in the Cowpens, SC area. This is a direct-hire position with competitive pay and benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role and MUST have experience in plastics.

Key Responsibilities
General
- Safety Compliance: Ensures that all work is performed safely and adheres to safety standards to prevent injuries.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs): Adheres to GMPs by maintaining cleanliness and avoiding prohibited items such as jewelry and cell phones in production areas.
- Food Safety: Reports any food safety issues immediately to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Housekeeping: Performs housekeeping duties throughout the shift to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
- Continuous Improvement: Develops, implements, and supports Continuous Improvement Programs to enhance operational efficiency.
- Corrective Actions: Initiates corrective actions for any non-conformances identified during operations.
- Opportunity Identification: Identifies and reports opportunities for improvement through the "See It, Sort It, Report It" system.
- PPE Compliance: Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Personnel Supervision
- Staff Management: Supervises hourly production personnel, including managing scheduling, shift coverage, and vacation requests.
- Payroll: Approves time off requests and accurately processes payroll timesheets through DayForce.
- Performance Management: Oversees production personnel performance with the support of the Operations Manager, including documentation and performance reviews.
- Shift Meetings: Conducts shift start meetings and hand-offs to ensure effective communication.
- Work Assignments: Distributes daily work assignments and keeps detailed records of performance-related events (both positive and negative).
- Training: Ensures departmental training is completed and employees are adequately trained for their positions. Plans and executes cross-training to ensure backup for all job functions.
- Policy Enforcement: Administers plant rules and policies fairly and consistently.
Shift Responsibilities
- Production Monitoring: Regularly monitors shift output to meet schedule and customer delivery targets.
- Quality Assurance: Ensures that production meets quality standards through personal inspections and review of quality assurance reports.
- Data Entry: Inputs shift production data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Equipment Monitoring: Ensures equipment and tooling are running to standard cycle and cavitation; reports any deviations.
- Production Data Review: Reviews production data in Qlikview (Production Management System) to ensure standards are met and develops corrective actions for under-target products.
- Line Setup: Confirms that lines are set up per schedule in WE3 (Labeling System) and Docushare (Procedure Management System).
- Quality Checks: Ensures quality checks are performed by injection operators in SPC.
- Documentation: Confirms that notes/events (e.g., downtime, repairs, staffing issues) are documented in OPS Tracker (Operations Efficiency Tracking System).
- GEMBA Walk: Conducts daily GEMBA walk exchanges with the outgoing supervisor.
- Floor Presence: Spends 75% of the day on the production floor to oversee operations and ensure smooth workflow.
Experience
- Manufacturing Supervisor Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisor role preferred.
- Production Experience: 5 years of experience in a production role preferred.
- Injection Molding: Experience in injection molding is preferred.
Skills
- Injection Knowledge: Basic knowledge and skills in injection molding, including troubleshooting equipment.
- Self-Starter: Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer use, including all office programs.
Education/Requirements
- High School Diploma: Required.
