Are you an attorney passionate about complex regulatory and policy questions related to the Medicaid program? Join our dynamic and supportive team, where you can engage in projects that enhance access to affordable, high-quality health care services. If you have experience with Medicaid issues, such as coverage, reimbursement, managed care delivery systems, or demonstration projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act, we want to hear from you. Even if you don't have direct Medicaid experience but have a strong interest and willingness to learn, particularly with the federal Administrative Procedure Act, you are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice on regulatory and compliance issues
- Assist with structuring and negotiating health care transactions
- Implement a variety of contractual arrangements
- Counsel clients on the full range of legal issues affecting the health care industry
- Engage in thorough legal research and analysis on Medicaid and other health care regulatory matters
- Draft memoranda, pleadings, and other case documents with clarity and precision
- Manage matters from commencement to final resolution, ensuring effective communication with clients and supervising attorneys
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree
- 2-4 years of health care regulatory experience, including coverage and reimbursement
- Preferred experience with Medicaid regulatory and policy issues and/or complex administrative law questions
- Strong interest in issues involving Medicaid and expanding access to high-quality health care services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce regulatory analysis for a lawyer audience and high-level synthesis for a lay audience
- Strong attention to detail and excellent legal research and analytical skills
- Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently and proactively
- Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice
