As a Job Captain, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Designer and Project Manager to support the design, detailing, and documentation processes of various projects. Your primary focus will be on the Design Development and Construction Document phases, where you will play a key role in production management, drafting, and modeling.
You will oversee the technical aspects of design while ensuring timely project delivery and adherence to standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently draft and compile comprehensive construction documents with efficiency and precision.
- Conduct thorough reviews of construction documents (CDs) to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical systems, building codes, and ADA requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants to align their work with design solutions and ensure timely submission of required documents.
- Facilitate effective communication with team members and clients to maintain a seamless workflow and ensure project success.
- Contribute to the design and development of projects, offering creative input where needed.
- Manage responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and provide coordination during the Construction phase.
- Provide oversight and feedback on team tasks and deliverables.
- Engage in day-to-day client coordination, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering their growth and development.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within timelines.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while ensuring design integrity and compliance throughout each phase of a project.
