Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team! This position is onsite and located in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Duties:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers and routers within the data center to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Run, terminate, and manage fiber optic and copper cables, ensuring all connections are secure and organized according to industry standards
- Apply padding and protective measures to cable connections, maintaining a neat and safe cabling environment
- Installation, support, and testing of data cables
- Installation, upgrade, and support of hardware such as servers, network, and storage
- Conduct regular audits and maintain accurate inventory records, tracking serial numbers, receiving equipment, and ensuring all assets are properly documented
- Manage and respond to incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing change management procedures to minimize disruptions and improve system reliability
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Technical support and troubleshooting
- Incident and Change Management
- Strong cabling history
- Strong soft skills and attention to detail
- Previously worked in a data center environment
