Leading company located downtown Chicago company is looking for an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join their fast-paced and dynamic legal team.
Job Description: The attorney will be responsible for managing outside counsel on a variety of litigation matters and providing regulatory advice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft legal documents
- Coordinate and manage litigation support activities, including gathering and organizing data and evidence.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining tracking tools and reports created for litigation and regulatory matters.
- Oversee internal discovery efforts with and without outside counsel, including coordination with internal e-discovery team.
- Serve as a legal resource on matters to client-facing professional staff as well as internal support functions.
- Participate in monitoring, maintaining and implementing various corporate governance practices and policies including compliance with various global exchange listing requirements and jurisdictional regulations.
- Interact with outside legal counsel on designated matters.
- Collaborates with legal department colleagues and management to identify and mitigate risk exposures for the company.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law
- Minimum 5 years of commercial litigation experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing multiple cases and the ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated understanding of business practices and financial systems.
