Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer, who will report to and work alongside Project Managers. To be successful in this role, a high level of organization will be necessary as our environment is a fast-paced one. The Project Engineer acts as the central point for communication, documentation, and coordination for the Project Management Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and track Change Order Requests (COR’s) through approval and update internal processes/documentation for getting changes into production and delivery.
- Prepare, track, and update Change Order Logs.
- Prepare, submit, and track requests for information (RFI’s) through resolution.
- Prepare, track, and update Schedules of Value for monthly billing.
- Create, process, and track project specific purchase orders.
- Prepare permit documentation, submit, coordinate, and obtain permits from cities and counties.
- Prepare and maintain Sign Schedules in Excel or Smartsheet.
- Review, process, and distribute project submittals and track these through approval.
- Review architectural drawings and specifications to prepare or validate take-off products, quantities, and locations.
- Prepare and submit Project Close-out & Safety Documentation.
- Maintain and update all project schedules in Smartsheet.
- Coordinate with vendors for project specific outsourced products and services.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Supply Chain, Fabrication, and Installation teams for on-time project completion.
- Track and update production status in the Company’s Workflow Management System to ensure alignment with project schedules.
- Provide periodic status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Report, log, and follow up on risks, issues, and red flags.
- Prepare kick-off meeting packages for new projects.
- Review Contracts, Scope Packages, Sign Schedules, Take-offs, Sales Checklists, Project summaries etc. for quality and completeness.
Requirements
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel & Outlook
- Working knowledge of any scheduling software (Smartsheet, MS Project etc.)
- Able to speak and write in English proficiently and communicate clearly.
- Commercial construction or public works background is a plus.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
