As the Land Acquisition Manager you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and acquiring new land deals to meet business plan targets consistent with strategic plan and site selection criteria of the company. As a production homebuilder, strategic, cadenced delivery of specific lot types is essential to achieving our growth goals and ensuring the smooth operation of the business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Locate land suitable for acquisition and development by conducting the necessary market research and due diligence
- Determine land values in the specific market by checking like property sales by means of public records, developers and other professional affiliates
- Maintain a market database of comps and proprietary information for the markets we cover
- Develop a network of land developers, brokers, and investors to broaden your access to potential acquisitions
- Develop a targeted acquisition strategy and utilize your team to nurture relationships with land owners, developers, investors, other homebuilders, agents, and brokers.
- Negotiate and contract land acquisition targets
- Review and monitor purchase agreements and coordinate joint venture agreements and construction management agreements as necessary
- Dispose of land that does not fit with our investing objectives
