Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Summer Intern - 2025 at SYM Financial Advisors. The internship is a rotational 12 -week program exploring 11 different departments within SYM. The interns will be involved in day-to-day tasks such as supporting client service teams, participating in client meetings, and completing various solo and team projects. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to learn about wealth building strategies and financial planning through our mock project and presentations. You will work on a team of 3 to 4 other student interns.
Qualifications
- Financial Research, Portfolio Management, and Wealth Management skills
- Basic understanding of financial planning concepts
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Knowledge of investment strategies and retirement planning is a plus
Selection Criteria
College sophomores and juniors with a 3.0 GPA or better, majoring in Personal Financial Planning or a related business major. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and a demonstrative ability and willingness to learn. Must be an independent worker who is able to make decisions and solve problems.
Program Incentives
The primary incentive in this program is the opportunity to investigate a career in the wealth advising industry with hands-on experience prior to graduation. Upon completion, the intern should have sufficient knowledge necessary to determine if a career in the wealth advisory industry is the right path to pursue. For the right person, this internship could lead to a full-time position with SYM Financial Advisors after graduation.
Work Schedule
Summer interns are expected to work 40 hours/week.
Compensation
Student will be paid an hourly wage, to be determined at the onset of the internship experience.
