Job Posting: Design Engineer
Position Overview: Our client is seeking an Design Engineer to join their team under the direction of the Director of Engineering. In this role, you will focus on the technical design and integration of products to meet customer requirements, working closely with account managers, manufacturing engineers, and customer engineering teams. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and integrating exhaust products/systems, maintaining detailed design models, generating specifications, and optimizing designs for manufacturability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop fluid flow system layouts and resolve system-level issues with account management/customers.
- Design and integrate exhaust systems for various markets, maintaining detailed models and system-level Bills of Materials.
- Generate specifications and coordinate technical support work including mechanical design and testing.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to optimize designs and manage project schedules.
- Perform on-site testing and present technology at customer and supplier sites.
- Travel required: 10-25%.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
- 2-5 years of experience in product design using solid modeling tools (Inventor preferred).
Preferred Experience:
- Basic knowledge of acoustics, vehicle chassis systems, and exhaust components.
- Six Sigma knowledge/skills
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and print creation.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
