Position Purpose:
Oversee the drafting team responsible for creating detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for architectural systems. Ensure the efficient production of accurate and high-quality drawings that meet engineering specifications and industry standards.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities:
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of detailers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Drawing Review and Approval: Review and approve all drawings produced by the team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design specifications and building codes.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring their understanding of architectural design principles, building materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve the drafting process, increase efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that drafting projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Technology Implementation: Stay up-to-date on the latest drafting technologies and implement new tools and processes as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software. Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Management Experience: Proven experience leading and managing teams, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop employees.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices. Experience working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and brass.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in drafting or a related field.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with 3D drafting software.
