Production / Manufacturing Supervisor
M-F (8a - 5p), on-site in Gastonia NC manufacturing, fabrication and tooling facility
The Production Supervisor is responsible for a small production department where most of the employees’ activities are standardized and are of limited complexity. The Production Supervisor will lead a team of 5 to 15+/- managing the day to day assignment, review and supervision of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe work environment (goal of zero work-related injuries) and ensure compliance with all safety procedures
- Supervise manual work and use of fabrication / machining equipment
- Plan and layout work, assign, instruct and direct employees, providing instruction and training as needed
- Inspect work progress, equipment and tools, check for material shortages, defeats or quality issues that may cause delays
- Lead and maintain continuous improvement efforts, with a focus on reducing set up and machining time
- Manage interviews, hiring, onboarding, performance management and personnel relations
- Conduct performance reviews and make recommendations for termination when needed, evaluate requested transfers, promotions and wage increases
- Function as a working leader, helping out with production / machining and fabrication when required
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of manufacturing industry experience with 2+ years as a lead / supervisor or manager
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
