Who you are:
· Proven ability to provide feedback and active follow up
· Knowledge of cooking techniques and production cooking in a high-volume kitchen required
· Successful kitchen management experience required
· Flexible schedule with availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends
· Experience with supervising and training required
· Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
· Computer knowledge and skills required
· Excellent leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills
· Enforce all labor laws (federal, state and local)
· Ability to stand during working hours and frequently lift 50 pounds
· Must meet local/state food safety certification standards
The Job:
The Kitchen Manager oversees our kitchen team to make sure the product is made accurately to order. This also includes actively being a production cook, maintaining food cost control, food safety, and vendor ordering. Attention to detail, quality and accuracy are a must. They provide mentorship and coaching to staff, including setting the standard for excellent efficient kitchen skills. This position reports to the Commissary Operation Manager.
Main Job Responsibilities:
· Oversees all levels of food production, ordering accuracy, and receiving of ingredients.
- They always lead by example for the team
- Provides direction, supervision, hands-on coaching, and mentorship to Cooks
- Actively participates in department organization and efficiencies
- Actively participates in production cooking
- Mentor and train staff to ensure that department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
- Always fulfill the customers (Store) order with accuracy
- Always fulfill the customers (Store) order with the highest quality standard of food
- Actively engage and successfully implement processes and standards to the team
- Can help drive the company vehicle and deliver product as needed
