Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead and innovate within a mid-sized aerospace organization. This senior management role demands a strategic visionary to oversee multiple engineering departments, drive technical excellence, and guide program execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and optimize engineering and R&D policies, budget management, and team empowerment.
- Ensure high-quality technical delivery, manage risk registers, and navigate complex program recoveries.
- Drive staffing forecasts, career progression, and training programs.
- Implement and refine technical processes and advocate for continuous improvement.
- Oversee product development from concept to flight operations, manage technical metrics, and produce key technical documentation.
- Work closely with PMO, Operations, Quality, and Business Development teams.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of engineering experience with substantial senior management experience.
- 10+ years of recent experience in the aerospace industry.
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or related field; Project Management certification is a plus.
- Proven expertise in multiple technical disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Embedded, Mechanical, Test, Systems, and/or Software Engineering).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NASA programs.
- PCB design experience.
