SUMMARY
The Senior Electrical Designer is responsible for gathering and analyzing technical data used to prepare basic electrical engineering designs and drawings for client projects including Power, Lighting & Electrical Distribution, Electrical One-Line Drawings, Electrical Load Studies, Power Equipment List (Transformers, Switchgear, Motors, UPS, etc.), and related Electrical Drawings (Schematics, etc.). This individual is expected to fulfill the requirements of the position and understands that the design process includes visiting clients’ facilities where they may be expected to perform some physical work.

- Responsible for Design Calculations and Plan Development
- Works with other Designers and Engineers on a Project Team, maintaining effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients
- Collects and prepares data/information and performs detailed design calculations
- Specifies power system equipment, lighting and power panels, motor control centers, grounding systems, and lighting systems
- Creates electrical load studies, control schematics, and electrical installation details
- Utilizes computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform design tasks
- Assists in field work by obtaining field information, checking installations, problem-solving, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems
- Working with Lead Engineer is responsible for electrical designs and CAD drawings on assigned Projects
- Maintains compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards
- Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly
- Accepts other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Electrical technical training and/or electrical design experience
- Field experience desired
- Six (6) to Twelve (12) years or more working in one or more of the following service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, Utility, Energy, and Manufacturing
- Knowledgeable in lighting systems, power systems equipment, NEC or NFPA 70, applicable building codes, hazardous area classifications for process industries, and wiring practices
- Proficient in AutoCAD (3D a plus), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Experience with the development of electrical drawings, P & IDs, installation details, conduit and cable schedules

- Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel
