JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Individual will champion process development, product launch and continual improvement project in manufacturing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead process improvement and cost reduction projects in manufacturing.
- Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing departments on existing products.
- Explore, engineer, and implement new manufacturing technologies for part production.
- Use problem solving techniques for root cause analysis and implement preventive/corrective action.
- Recommends and assists in developing the process for new component production.
- Lead or be a team participant in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively lead problem-solving efforts to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Work to optimize existing processes, focusing on cost reduction.
- Assists in developing and modifying the initial routing and process instructions.
- Maintain engineering documentation: prints, operation sheets, etc. via engineering change system.
- Must be willing to travel as required to perform the objectives of this function.
- Participates and supports companies Six Sigma initiatives.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
SKILLS EXECUTED:
Must be an excellent communicator and have strong analytical capabilities. Must be able to identify problems well and present optimal solutions. Working knowledge of computers and engineering mathematics. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work well independently and in a cross-functional team environment.Wellman Friction’s
EDUCATION:
Minimum of an Associates Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of machining, inspection, and process development. Ideal candidate would be a "hands-on" person with shop floor experience.

- Individual must physically and mentally be able to perform the job demands as listed above.
- Position requires working with multi-disciplinary teams and process improvement in all departments and aspects of the business.
- Position requires the person to be capable of interfacing equally well with individuals and groups working in all areas of the process.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves. Other personal protective gear as required.
