Plant Director Needed for Leading Plastics Manufacturing Firm

A prominent plastics manufacturing firm is on the lookout for a dynamic, hands-on leader to take on the role of Site Operations Leader at one of their key facilities.
Summary:
The Plant Director will oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cGMP standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and technical expertise in a flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities of the Plant Director include:
- Oversee Manufacturing Operations: Manage daily activities including EHS, Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, and Human Resources.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the facility.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance evaluations for employees.
- Machinery Efficiency: Ensure flexible packaging machinery operates efficiently.
- Policy Compliance: Monitor plant activities to ensure adherence to company policies and best practices.
- Operational KPIs: Develop and uphold KPIs to maintain a world-class manufacturing facility and ensure employee safety.
- Supplier Liaison: Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and other parties as necessary.
- Collaboration: Work with department heads and corporate executives to track progress on company goals and plant performance.
- Employee Development: Train, develop, and coach employees to build a strong management layer.
- LEAN/Six Sigma Implementation: Apply LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies throughout the facility.
- Hazardous Materials Training: Train and coach employees on best practices with hazardous materials.
- cGMP Compliance: Ensure manufacturing operations comply with cGMP guidelines.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term business plans.
- Employee Leadership: Hire, train, motivate, and lead employees to become organizational leaders.
- Service Requirements: Ensure all service requirements are met.
Ideal Plant Director Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10+ years in a plastics, extrusion, flexible packaging, flexographic printing, or similar manufacturing environment
- 5+ years in Plant Management.
- LEAN and/or Six Sigma certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Superior leadership abilities and the ability to drive cultural and organizational change.
- LEAN/5S Experience: Experience with LEAN and/or 5S manufacturing practices.
