Job Overview
As the General Manager you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Ocala post-harvest operation and be a key leader in the execution of our company strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operational flows, manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, distribution, compliance, and facilities.
• Plan, organize, and supervise all operations to accomplish corporate objectives.
• Create, implement, and manage a profitable plan to budget and take full ownership for the operation of the facility.
• Oversee department heads to ensure daily, monthly, and yearly goals are met and exceeded.
• Establish objectives for the team and drive high-performance.
• Maximize individual outputs to support growth by identifying, addressing, and resolving key issues and creatively motivating your people.
• Run weekly department meetings to discuss company updates, risks, and opportunities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
• Manage, update and report facility activity using company systems and summarize information to support decision making.
• Accountable for the department's growth through the development and enforcement of SOPs, lean methods, fair policies, and procedures, while meeting all company standards for safety and compliance.
• Continuous improvement of systems and processes to identify cost-effective strategies and efficiencies to improve performance.
• Lead presentations to the Executive team on a regular basis to communicate the status of the department and provide updates on how business objectives are being met.
• Participate in broader organizational strategic planning.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, operational teams to maintain and grow market share.
• Establish the necessary staffing levels and ensure open positions are filled on time and with high-performing individuals.
• Assess and review employee performance.
• Communicate with cross-functional Managers and Directors to motivate, enforce, and ensure overall success of the operation.
• Ensure diligence in recording and reporting daily transactional reporting.
Qualifications
• 5+ years as a General Manager or other similar executive role in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years as VP of Operations or GM for a Cannabis manufacturing & distribution operation.
• Experience overseeing multiple operation sites.
• Experience managing multiple verticals within the operation.
• Experience managing 100+ reports.
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma in a manufacturing environment a must.
• Experience with supply chain planning and budgeting.
• Thorough knowledge of Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software products.
• Outstanding leadership qualities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High organizational abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or experience commensurate with position.
