Job Description
As a Piping Designer at Tessenderlo Kerley, you will play an essential role in the design and development of complex piping systems for our company.
As a Piping Designer on the Project Services team, you will be part of a dynamic team reporting to our Design Manager. You will be responsible for preparing piping and mechanical equipment layouts in accordance with process and instrumentation diagrams, engineering specifications and industry standards. In addition, you will have opportunities to grow and develop skills and have an impact on the design and development of new and existing company facilities.
Key Accountabilities (Performance Profile):
Under the direct supervision of the lead designer, will be required to:
- Create area equipment and piping 3D models in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Create construction and fabrication drawings from area models, including equipment fabrication details, piping isometrics, piping plans and sections, and detail drawings as required.
- Keep drawings and models up to date with the latest P&ID revisions.
- Create bills of material for the construction materials required for the fabrication and/or installation of equipment and piping.
- Assist lead and senior designers with project tracking documents.
Qualifications
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors:
- Associate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years minimum design/drafting experience.
- Must have a good working knowledge of fabrication and construction practices and procedures in conformance with industry standards.
- Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Good working knowledge of Cadworx Plant Professional design software.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
