The Training Content Specialist identifies subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist in the development and evaluation of courses designed for workers in the electronics manufacturing industry, locating and assessing media requested by instructional designers, and reviewing and editing all course storyboards for accuracy and clarity.
Identify and collaborate with SMEs – 25%
Locate and vet subject matter experts in the electronics manufacturing industry. Coordinate with SMEs to gather relevant information and insights for course content. Ensure SME contributions are accurate, current, and aligned with course objectives.
Media Assessment and Procurement – 25%
Edit and manipulate photographs and illustrations that align with the stated learning objectives and best practices in instructional design. Edit raw video footage into cohesive and visually appealing videos that align with the stated learning objectives and best practices in instructional design.
Storyboard Review and Editing – 50%
Review and edit course storyboards for accuracy, clarity, and comprehensibility. Ensure instructional content aligns with learning objectives and industry standards. Collaborate with instructional designers to improve and refine storyboards as needed.
Requirements
- Some college preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience working in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- At least 3 years of experience as an instructional, technical, or explanatory writer and creating instructional content according to best practices in instructional design. .
- Strong understanding of the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience directly managing subject matter experts and contractors.
- Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models highly preferred.
